Publishing in academic journals is for many the pinnacle of academic accomplishment. Taking research and preparing the results so that a wide group of readers can benefit from it, is a challenge. The author has attempted in this book to inform the reader of the pathways to effective publishing, by satisfying the needs of the reader, author, editor and reviewer. A thorough discussion of the various steps required to turn research into published academic works of high impact and relevance will assist accomplished authors as well as emerging academics.

Reviewing and decision making on academic materials always have been a challenge to the relevant community in terms of quality control. It is a process which substantially depends on human factors and understanding. The author of this book has attempted to adopt a quantitative measure with the help of information and communication technology with his intensive experience in editing two international journals.   The subject matter that the author tries to propose in this book seems to be a very new approach, has potential and significant for decision making especially in the review process of academic articles. As a whole I understand that the system that has been developed by the author is a robust technique to justify any decision made on academic publication whether to be rejected or accepted. The most convincing part of this system is that it has been developed on the traditional review process by incorporating mathematical and statistical theories.

‘How to publish in a prestigious journal?’- perhaps one of the most discussed subject matters in the academia and several published documents. An academician’s ultimate goal is to be recognized in the community, both locally and globally, which they may achieve by publishing their research work. Thus, not surprisingly, the importance and appeal of learning ‘how to write for publishing in eminent journal’ never ends. The growing interest and competition to publish in prestigious journals has created more intense movement towards knowing about publishing these days. When I came to know that the author has written a book on the similar topic, I was wondering whether the same approach was followed like other reading materials available on the topic.

IJBMS appreciates contributions with in-dept synthesis by the company managers in solving managerial problems. The journal also calls for contributions by the managers on the management strategy that offers better performance of the company.

In academic publication there is no standard decision making process. Commonly the process is postulated by an editorial board of which an editor is the leader. Thus, the decision differs and leads to an ‘acceptance’ or ‘rejection’ recommendation. This is called ‘misery of recommendation’. The Standardized Acceptance Factor Average (SAFATM) is a mathematical framework to facilitate decision making towards acceptance or rejection. SAFA™ calculator v1.1 is a tool that can be used for better decision making in academic publication. A complete introduction of the SAFA Calculator v1.1 can be found in the book entitled "Smart Evaluation Process of Academic Writing". SAFA™ can be useful to rank academic articles, too.
